2019 has been a year of great challenges for me. I put my life on hold to go to my family farm to help care for my father during his cancer journey. He passed away in late October as I lay with him and my heart was blown wide open. The grief swallows me whole at times, and I arrived home to Byron more exhausted than I remember being in a decade. Needing to rest – only to be faced with bushfires and a visceral reminder of the climate anxiety that is ever increasing for us all. I am reminded of the simplicity and power of this deep work. Of how profoundly resilient I have become since my breakdown in 2011. How collectively we need this juju now more than ever.

It is a balm for my younger self and a refuge for my deep heart as the ground shifts beneath me. There have been many initiations during my life – but this one has left me feeling more deeply grounded in my “why” and in trusting that this work is needed.

Dubbed ‘The Nervous System Whisperer’ I’m a recovering perfectionist and people-pleaser turned napping expert, who lives in subtropical Byron Bay, Australia. A Somatic Educator, Creative Arts and Dance Movement Therapist I am the founder of DEEP REST® and PSOAS LOVE®. An old-school entrepreneur of 30 years – I have been teaching and holding space for groups for most of my life. My own breakdown and triumphant recovery provided the blue-print. As the poster-girl for rest I am a lover of human biology, social justice and futurism.

I live, create and lead with my deep sensitivity at the helm.

My vision is of a world brimming with well-rested, juicy, resilient humans. I’ve seen what’s coming in the next decade and I want us to be ready. What do I need to participate in NOURISH?

Nourish is intentionally simple. All you will need is a valid email address and 5-10 minutes in the morning to read a few paragraphs, listen to the audio or watch the little video. There is nothing for you to do to participate in this course, it is intended to be soothing, reassuring, and deliciously uncomplicated.

I have designed this to be do-able for everyone. Not the usual plethora of special props needed for my more sciency PSOAS LOVE® work. Simple household things (like pillows and a blanket and a bed or couch)

Can I give NOURISH as a gift?

Yes! Absolutely, you generous thing you! A pre-Christmas gift that keeps giving…. Simply email me to set this up.

I’m going to be busy/working/getting ready for the end of year (Christmas). Will I have time for NOURISH?

YES. This course is low on the busy-work and high on gentle reminders of your inner power and strength. You can take it with you anywhere that you go – and fit it into your busy lifestyle.

  • How to stop. How to do a digital (information/timulatio/stress) Detox. You can do it for a day, a week or the whole 14 days.
  • Learn to listen more deeply to the messages of your body and Nervous System
  • You will make amends (with yourself) and renew your self-care vows
  • Experience really looooong sloooow deeeeeep relaxation as well as the quick power-nap (both are valuable but we will do both so you get to choose.)
  • I’ll offer some playful re-patterning tools – designed to discombobulate your system and enable radical shifts, re-wiring and cellular repair
  • Expect to be deeply moved, deeply humbled, deeply in love with yourself and deeply rested when we are done. Perhaps even unrecognisable (and inspiring) to those who know and love you

I’m curious what will we actually be ‘doing’?

  • Less than usual (lol). There will be silence. And slow movement. Slow living. All the stuff that cultivates calming parasympathetic hormones and regulates the nervous system
  • Time in bed other than sleeping and sexing. We. Will. Rest.
  • Checking in with ourselves every day, spending time in nature (even if you live in the city) and upping the dial on our pleasure preference
  • There will be silent time, solo time for walks, journalling or naps, and the online group conversations on the 2 optional calls for sharing, asking questions, witnessing and championing one another
  • There will be tips for better sleep, a little taste of PSOAS LOVE® (but thats a WHOLE other body of work) and abundant devotional self-care prompts
  • There will be playlists with the most exquisite atmospheric tracks that will help you drop deeeeeep
  • Basically – it’s lush, simple AND spacious. After all – who needs any stress or overwhelm, right?

What is the commitment and structure each day for this 14-day course and retreat? 

You’re busy, I get it. So I have made this as overwhelm-free as possible. I have also designed it so you can do a little bit or all of it. You may just listen to an audio every day for 5 minutes as you lay on your bed and breathe with me guiding you

But I get that it can be almost impossible for those who are parenting and working and juggling so much to find 10 minutes per day. I guarantee we will all slow down, create some more breathing space around things, and yes: Rest

What about the different timezones and live calls?

My timezone is Australian Eastern Daylight Time (GMT+11)

My intention is that time zones will be largely irrelevant during this course because the 14 days are to be explored in your own time, at your own pace. There’s no FB group. (relief). How’s that sound?

If you want to join the LIVE video calls all I know is that they will be on ZOOM – (I’ll send a link – its super easy) and the first call will be on around day 2 and the second on day 14. They will be at a time that works for me (generally 6pm my time). If you miss it you can simply access the video recordings in a follow up email I will send out. Watch at a time that suits you

What happens after I sign up for the Retreat?

You will receive a receipt, and a Welcome email to get you started. Then just relaaaax…
